An M2M (Machine to Machine) router allows seamless communication between machines within the network as if the SCADA and remote computer were in situated the same room.

This is achieved by creating virtual private networks (VPNs) through SSH with every communication device. In this way, it adds greater security to communications and to the SCADA remote units as if they were on the same network.

In addition, it also solves the problem of having a public IP in the remote devices or not, or whether it is static or dynamic, as it is the remote devices themselves which establish communication and the M2M Gateway ARM600 designates a fixed IP to each one so that the SCADA can always find the remote unit on the same site.
